I have confusion in statement 1 but 2nd statement are correct. 1st statement in first no of pages in symmetry chapter is 12. total no pages is 320. the ratio is 12:320 =3:81 = 1 :27 2nd statement 2 out of 5 can participate means 40% of the student the 40% of 100 is 40 the percentage of students that participate in the quiz = 40/100*100 40%

12:320=3:80 in its simplest form. It is not equal to 3:81. You may simplify it like 12/320 divide both numerator and denominator by 4. You will surely get the answer as 3:80.
